Zika Virus Precautions Underway

We are aware of the Zika virus' presence in Colombia. We are regularly communicating with our contacts in Cartagena and have been assured that it is safe to travel to the city.

However, we are preparing to take additional precautions for all of our friends and family. We will be providing mosquito-repelling bracelets and spray for all our guests upon arrival in Cartagena.

According to the CDC, 1 in 5 people exposed to the virus can become ill. The most common symptoms are usually mild and can last a week. They include fever, rash and joint pain. Pregnant women are at a higher risk of complications.

For our out of town guests, we recommend flying into Cartagena (CTG):

- via MCO: Copa Airlines, Avianca, Delta

- via MIA/FLL: Copa Airlines, Avianca

- via JFK: Jetblue

For our non-Colombian guests, please be sure your passport is more than six months away from its expiration date at the time of travel.
You will not need to apply for a tourist visa to enter Colombia.
